Okmulgee City is a city in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, United States. It is the county seat of Okmulgee County and is located in the eastern part of the state. Okmulgee City has a population of approximately 12,275 people as of the 2020 census. The city is known for its rich Native American heritage, as well as its oil and gas industry. It is home to Okmulgee High School and Okmulgee Technical College. Some notable attractions in Okmulgee City include the Creek Council House Museum, the OSUIT Museum of Art, and Okmulgee Lake.
