Montague City is a fictional city in the play "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare. It is one of the two rival cities in Verona, Italy, along with Capulet City. The Montagues and the Capulets are two noble families who have a long-standing feud, which leads to tragic consequences for the young lovers Romeo and Juliet. Montague City is known for being the home of Romeo, his parents Lord and Lady Montague, and his cousin Benvolio.
