Leipzig-Halle is a city in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is actually a combination of two cities, Leipzig and Halle, which are located about 30 kilometers apart. Leipzig is known for its rich history as a trading city and its cultural significance, being home to famous composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Richard Wagner. Halle, on the other hand, is known for its strong industrial sector and is home to the oldest university in Saxony-Anhalt. The two cities merged in 2007 to form a larger metropolitan area, with the Leipzig-Halle Airport serving as a major transportation hub for the region.
