La Plata is the capital city of the Buenos Aires Province in Argentina. It is located approximately 56 kilometers southeast of the city of Buenos Aires. La Plata is known for its neoclassical architecture, wide avenues, and numerous parks and squares. The city was designed in the late 19th century by architect Pedro Benoit, following a strict grid pattern with diagonal streets that converge at a central square called Plaza Moreno.
