Komsomolsk-na-Amure is a city located in the Khabarovsk Krai region of Russia. It is situated on the left bank of the Amur River, about 356 kilometers northwest of Khabarovsk. The city has a population of approximately 248,600 people. Komsomolsk-na-Amure was founded in 1932 as a center for heavy industry and it remains a major industrial hub in the region. The city is known for its shipbuilding and aircraft manufacturing industries, as well as for producing military equipment. Komsomolsk-na-Amure also has a vibrant cultural scene with theaters, museums, and parks.
