Keewaywin is a First Nations reserve located in northwestern Ontario, Canada. It is the smallest and most remote community in the Nishnawbe Aski Nation, located approximately 350 kilometers north of Sioux Lookout. Keewaywin is accessible only by air, with the closest all-season road ending about 200 kilometers away. The community has a population of around 300 people and is predominantly Oji-Cree. Keewaywin is governed by a Chief and council and offers essential services such as a school, health clinic, and local band office. The economy of Keewaywin is based mainly on traditional activities such as hunting, fishing, and trapping, as well as wage employment and government funding.
