Janesville is a city in southern Wisconsin, United States. It is the county seat of Rock County and has a population of approximately 63,000 people. Janesville is located on the Rock River and is about 15 miles south of the state capital, Madison. The city has a rich industrial history and was once known as the "City of Parks" due to its numerous public and recreational spaces. Janesville is home to several notable attractions, including the Rotary Botanical Gardens, the Rock County Historical Society, and the Janesville Mall. The city also has a strong educational system with multiple public and private schools, as well as a campus of Blackhawk Technical College.
