Cheap flights to Tatalina AFS
- Tatalina AFS airport, also known as Tatalina Air Force Station, is a former United States Air Force facility located in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area of Alaska, near the village of McGrath. It was primarily used as a radar site for air defense purposes during the Cold War.
- The airport was established in 1952 and operated until 1979 when it was deactivated. It had a 10,000-foot (3,000 m) asphalt runway and supported both military and civilian aircraft operations. The facility was equipped with radars, communication systems, and other infrastructure necessary for monitoring and controlling airspace.
- Today, Tatalina AFS airport is no longer active and has been abandoned. The runway and facilities have fallen into disrepair, and the site is no longer maintained. However, some remnants of the former Air Force station can still be seen in the area.
- Please note that Tatalina AFS airport is not open for public use, and accessing the site might be restricted due to its current condition and location on federal property.
