- Miramar airport, also known as Miramar Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS Miramar), is a military airfield located in San Diego, California. It is used by the United States Marine Corps and is the home base for the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. Miramar airport has a rich history and played a significant role during World War II and the Vietnam War. It is also famous for being the filming location for the movie "Top Gun."
