- Mirabel Airport, also known as Montréal-Mirabel International Airport, is located in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada. It is one of the two major airports serving the Montreal area, alongside Trudeau International Airport. Mirabel Airport was officially opened in 1975 and was initially intended to replace Trudeau airport as the primary airport for the region. However, due to a variety of factors, including its remote location and high construction costs, Mirabel Airport never achieved its full potential and has primarily been used for cargo and general aviation purposes in recent years. Nonetheless, it remains an important transportation hub for the area.
