- Grissom Air Reserve Base (formerly Grissom Air Force Base) is a Military Air Force Reserve base located in Peru, Indiana, USA. It is named after Lieutenant Colonel Virgil "Gus" Grissom, an astronaut who was one of the seven original Mercury astronauts. The base is now operated by the United States Air Force Reserve Command and hosts several Air Force Reserve units and is home to the 434th Air Refueling Wing. While it does have a runway and facilities for military aircraft, it is not a public or commercial airport commonly used for civilian travel.
