- Atarot Airport, also known as Kalandia Airport, was the main airport serving Jerusalem, Israel until its closure in 2001. It was located in the Atarot neighborhood, about 10 kilometers north of Jerusalem's city center. The airport primarily served as a domestic hub for flights to other cities in Israel, as well as some international destinations. However, due to security concerns and ongoing conflict in the region, the airport was closed to civilian aviation in 2001. Since then, plans for reopening the airport or using the site for alternative purposes have been proposed but have not been implemented. Today, the former airport is abandoned and unused.
